After the loss of at least two lives, the AJK protests were brought to an end when the government accepted the protesters demands for lower flour and electricity prices and a review of the luxuries of the privileged class.

In Pakistan, we seemingly wait until things deteriorate to the worst point possible before taking action. It is time for our rulers to cut the lavish expenses and live a more austere life.
