One might ask if the government has ever done a cost-benefit analysis of the laptop scheme. Is it the most critical area of education to invest in? Our rulers have often launched an initiative on a large scale without being fully aware of its outcomes. If we look at the statistics around 25 million children between ages 5-16 years are out of school. As we look at the poor economic condition of households and the expenses of education, this number is increasing. In future, more sustainable and deep-rooted policies need to be implemented to improve the education standards in the country, rather than solely relying on limited schemes that largely serve as a means of garnering popularity.
