MINGORA: Advisor to Chief Minister on Housing Amjad Ali is reportedly hell-bent on carrying out a housing scheme that was declared unfeasible by the previous provincial government, sources said on Saturday.

The sources said the Provincial Housing Authority (PHA) had declared the Abuha Housing Scheme in Swat unfeasible as the local people were unwilling to give their land for the proposed project under the formula devised at the time.

The sources said the high prices of land and inaccessibility to the area were the main hurdles that led to the project being declared unfeasible.

Amjad Ali, they said, had asked the director technical PHA to declare the project feasible, but he was removed from his job when he refused to oblige him.

When contacted, Amjad Ali said that nobody was performing duty at the PHA.

He said senior officials of the PHA, including its Director General Mohammad Saleem, was unwilling to work. He maintained that the project was intentionally declared unfeasible by making fake reports and showing high development price.

He said the matter would be probed and those found guilty would be punished. He said nobody had offered him any kickback or commission to go ahead with the project.
