PTI leaders launching movement for personal interests: Sherry
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Vice President Senator Sherry Rehman termed the PTI’s announcement of launching ‘Tehreek Tahaffuz Aain-e-Pakistan’ as nothing but a joke and an attempt to remain relevant in politics.
“Those who have breached the Constitution are now positioning themselves as defenders of the Constitution. ‘Tehreek Tahaffuz Aain-e-Pakistan’ is driven by personal interests rather than genuine concerns for the country’s well-being,” she said while commenting upon the PTI’s movement.
Sherry Rehman said the country truly needs at this time is stability, not sit-ins and protests. She said the PTI has never played constitutional role throughout its political history, the party should focus on positive contributions within the Parliament instead of creating chaos in the House.
Sherry Rehman called upon PTI to engage constructively at the parliamentary forums and to bring seriousness in its politics. “A political party unwilling to learn from its history and past actions cannot claim to be the defender of the constitution,” she said.
