ISLAMABAD: In the first incident of its kind, around a dozen faithful including a senior official of the National Assembly Secretariat and others were deprived of their footwear from the Masjid of Parliament House.
Director-General (Media) Zafar Sultan and senior journalist Siddique Sajid were among 12 Namazis at Jumaa prayers who lost their shoes and sleepers.
Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has constituted a committee comprising Joint Secretary (Admn) and Seargent at Arms to conduct an inquiry with the help of CCTV footage.
The point to ponder is that this Masjid is located inside the building of the Parliament House where parliamentarians including the Senate Chairman and Speaker also offer prayers.
