The widespread chewing of gutka across the country is a serious public health problem. Overuse of gutka and similar products can cause mouth cancer and these products tend to be addictive.
The authorities concerned, should take pragmatic measures to curb the sale of these goods, particularly sales to young children and launch a nationwide campaign to make people more aware of their negative health impacts.
