MARDAN: The Mardan Medical Complex (MMC) provided medical facilities to 5,589 patients including 343 persons who were injured in various accidents, during the Eidul Fitr holidays, said a senior official on Monday.
Medical Director of Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) MMC Professor Dr. Imad Hameed said an effective strategy had already been chalked out to ensure the provision of prompt and best medical facilities to the general public during the Eid.
He said all departments, including Neurosurgery, Surgical, Medical, Orthopedic, Cardiology, Gynecology, ENT, Laboratory and Radiology remained functional.The official said special arrangements were made to provide free healthcare to people through the Sehat Sahulat Programme.
Sharing the details, the official said out of the total 5,589 patients 665 were admitted to different specialties for further diagnosis and treatment.He said out of the total admitted patients, 262 were provided free treatment services through Sehat cards.
The medical director said CT Scan, Ultrasound and X-rays of 1,895 patients were performed during the Eid holidays, while 5,514 different laboratory tests were conducted. He said that 99 minor and major procedures were carried out during the said period.Dr. Imad Hameed said that 170 babies were born in the hospital during the four-day Eid holidays.
