PESHAWAR: On the directive of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, authorities have decided to relocate the fish market of Heritage Trail Food Street at Ghanta Ghar to another location out of the city.
A handout said that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, taking notice of the poor conditions of the Ghanta Ghar Heritage Trail, issued directives to the Commissioner Peshawar division Riaz Mehsud for urgent action. Following this, Commissioner Riaz Mehsud called an emergency meeting and instructed the deputy commissioner to visit the food street and submit a report to him regarding the area.
Assistant director of the Capital Metropolitan Government and Deputy Commissioner Afza Wazir visited the area and submitted a report. The report highlighted that the fish market in Ghanta Ghar was harming the beauty of the food street and Heritage Trail.
The commissioner directed immediate measures to relocate the fish market outside the city on an urgent basis.
