14 die in different incidents in three days

LAHORE:Around 14 people died in different incidents here in the City during the last three days. Body of a 50-year-old was found in the limits of Data Darbar. A 60-year-old man was found dead on the footpath near Shanghai Bridge in the limits of Factory Area. Body of a 50-year-old man was found in the Mustafa Town canal. A 22-year-old man died after being hit by a train near Walton railway station. A 35-year-old man allegedly committed suicide in Bakar Mandi area of Nawankot. The man ended his life by shooting himself for unknown reasons. The victim was identified as Nawaz, a resident of Sattokatla. Forensic team collected evidence and police initiated legal proceedings on various aspects. Body of an 18-year-old girl was recovered from a drain on Amir Road, Shad Bagh. The girl identified as ‘R’ went missing three days ago. Some passersby spotted the body floating in the drain and informed the police. The deceased’s relatives have alleged that she was murdered after being raped.

Body of a 30-year-old man was found near Bhatta Chowk, Chowki Nadarabad. Body of a 25-year-old youth was found on the footpath on Allama Iqbal Road. Body of an unidentified man was found near the Mustafabad canal. A 50-year-old man, who was found unconscious in the Nawankot police area, died in hospital. Body of a 60-year-old man was recovered from the Data Darbar area. A 35-year-old man was found dead on the footpath in the jurisdiction of Lorri Adda police and body of a 22-year-old youth was found in Quaid-i-Azam Industrial Area. Bodies were shifted to the morgue.

Meanwhile, the Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 2,177 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. In these accidents, 14 people died, whereas 2,553 were injured. Out of these, 1,247 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 1,306 victims with minor injuries were treated on the spot by Rescue medical teams.
