PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Industries, Commerce and Technical Education Abdul Karim Tordher on Monday called for the strengthening of the Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade (KP-BOIT) and asked its officials to reach out to the investors.
He said this as he visited the board office here and received a briefing on the sector-wise ongoing activities, progress and future road map, said a handout.
Upon his visit to KP-BOIT, Director of Business Facilitation Iqbal Sarwar, said functions, efficiency and role of KP-BOIT need to be improved and strengthened so that investment and trade can be better facilitated.
He also highlighted that SMART investment attraction techniques are required to be used to improve investment attraction, both foreign & local in the province.The director stated that Ease of Doing Business) and Pakistan Regulatory Modernization Initiatives were the priorities.
He suggested that KP-BOIT must reach out to local investors including leading industrialists and highlight issues hindering opportunities available in KP. The special assistant directed KP-BOIT to ensure progress updates of each industry with the timeline. He directed that a sector-wise presentation be made by each sector specialist next week.
