MINGORA: The teams of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) conducted operations in various parts of Lower Dir and disconnected several illegal connections, an official said on Sunday.
The regional head of SNGPL, Mir Wais Mian, said the raids were carried out by combined efforts of teams from Swat, Batkhela and Dir in Damamo, Auliya Banda, Bandagy, Tangy, Nakhtaro Koto and Shahgai villages early in the morning.
“About 4” Dia x 4.5 KMs illegal network, including more than 450 direct gas connections, were disconnected during the raid,” he added.He said the operation was conducted with precision despite the challenges posed by the chronic nature of these areas and previous reluctance from Law enforcement agencies. “The raid was planned last week most confidentially and executed perfectly as planned. Our teams are gathering data of culprits to lodge the first information report,” Mir Wais Mian added
The official maintained that every effort would be made to save the public money and action would be taken against the culprits in the future as well.
