Pakistan check into WJT quarters

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan have checked into the quarter-finals of Asia/Oceania WJT 14 & Under qualifying event beating Uzbekistan 2-1 in an important match in Kuching (Malaysia) on Thursday.
Pakistan’s leading player Abubakar Talha again came to the team’s rescue by winning his singles against Karimon Aburakhmon 6-2, 6-4 and then combined with Jawad Omar to beat the Uzbek pair of Aburakhmon and Makhmudbek 2-6, 7-5, 10-6. Jawad earlier lost his singles against Makhmudbek 2-6, 6-7 (2). Pakistan will now play against top seed Japan for a place in the semi-finals.
