LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana Thursday chaired a meeting to review cases relating to crimes against women and children.

The CCPO expressed his displeasure over the poor performance of in-charges of Special Sexual Offences Investigation Unit (SSIOU). The CCPO issued directives to supervisory officers to expedite the pending cases and monitor investigations personally.

He ordered immediate action against incidents of violence, harassment, acid attacks, abduction, and rape, emphasising that inaction on the part of police in this regard would not be tolerated.

He emphasised Lahore Police's commitment to the protection of students and women. He said child labour is a social curse and urged citizens to discourage it in every possible way. DIG (Investigation) Zeeshan Asghar, SSP (Investigation) Anoosh Masood Chaudhry, Divisional SPs (Investigation) and in-charges of SSIOU also attended the meeting.
