ISLAMABAD: Additional District and Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra has issued contempt of court notice to the superintendent Adiala Jail for not producing Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi on video link despite the court order in bail applications.
The court issued a notice and asked for a reply and asked the superintendent Adiala Jail to tell why contempt of court action should not be taken against him. The court ordered Superintendent Adiala Jail to submit answer till March 11.
During the hearing, PTI lawyers Sardar Masroof Khan, Amina Ali Advocate and others appeared in the court. Tahir Abbas Supra asked the police officials present in the courtroom to talk to the jail authorities, to make the founder of PTI and Bushra Bibi appear online. The judge said that if there is an appearance today, then the arguments will have to be held today.
On this the lawyer said that Barrister Salman Safdar could not appear.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case until the presence of the accused through the video link, after that the hearing could be resumed.
But the presence of the accused was not made through the video link.
The court issued a notice and said that the superintendent of Adiala Jail should submit an answer on the next hearing as to why contempt of court proceedings should not be taken against him. The court said that on the repeated instructions the attendance of PTI founder and Bushra Bibi was not made through video link. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till March 11. On the last hearing, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi had been ordered to appear via video link.
