Zong gives free calls to flood victims
Customers in the affected areas could dial *9090# to get 20 minutes of free calls to any Zong number in Pakistan for one day
KARACHI: Mobile network operator Zong 4G said on Saturday it was offering free services to customers in Baluchistan province, where heavy rains have triggered severe floods and displaced hundreds of people.
The company said in a statement that customers in the affected areas could dial *9090# to get 20 minutes of free calls to any Zong number in Pakistan for one day, as well as free access to its mobile app and website.
The cpmpany said it was also ensuring the safety of its employees and their families, and maintaining the quality and availability of its network services amid the challenging situation.
"The company recognizes the profound impact this crisis has had on countless lives, and is deeply committed to supporting the collective well-being of Pakistan’s citizens," the statement said. "To this end, the company pledges to do everything in its power to ensure the safety, security and well-being of customers, employees, and all stakeholders. "
