Sindh Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Haleem Adil Sheikh said on Wednesday that one after another, audio recordings of “confessions of guilt” had been surfacing, shedding light on the alleged election fraud.
Speaking in a video message, Sheikh said that after Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) senior deputy convener Mustafa Kamal, the audio leak of Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori pointed towards the electoral misconduct.
The PTI leader accused the MQM-P of stealing the public mandate in Karachi and Hyderabad, claiming that the seats belonging to PTI were snatched away. “They have stolen mandate, which is why the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Peoples Party are rejecting them,” Sheikh commented.
He added that the MQM-P sold votes during Imran Khan’s government and warned that the mandate they aimed to sell now belonged to the PTI.
Sheikh said the PTI would reclaim the stolen seats, claiming that PTI wsa the biggest party in the country. He added that the MQM-P should return the seats if they wished to regain public trust.
‘Respect vote’
The mandate of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) also seems to be fake like that of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P).
Sindh Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir and former MNA Muhammad Hussain Mehanti said this on Wednesday as he reacted to the recent audio leaks of MQM-P leader Syed Mustafa Kamal and Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori.
The JI stated that the governments formed with fake mandates could not last long. He added that the members and rulers of such governments were compromised, and Parliament was treated like a rubber stamp by those having its remote control.
Mehanti said the audio leaks of Tessori and Kamal in which they are heard briefing an MQM-P meeting regarding their talks with the PML-N over the government formation had exposed the fake mandate of the MQM-P.
He commented that the JI believed that until the sanctity of vote was respected and the people were given the right to elect their leadership, the country could not solve its political and economic crises. He demanded that the returning candidates of constituencies be declared in accordance with the results of Form 45.
