Walk the talk
It is disheartening to witness the people of Pakistan being consistently misled and disappointed by the leaders they trust with their hopes and aspirations. Our leaders have frequently made grandiose pledges during their election campaigns, only to conveniently forget them when they are in power.
They promise to address the issues that the public is facing, but elections have hardly led to any improvement. The infrastructure remains dysfunctional, poverty and unemployment persist, millions of our children continue to remain out-of-school, and healthcare remains a luxury. It is high time that the media and the public hold political leaders accountable for their words and actions. The people’s strength lies in their capacity to demand honesty and integrity from their elected representatives.
