‘Fair elections are government’s foremost responsibility’

Urging people to come out of their homes to cast vote, he said that election process would pass smoothly

QUETTA: Caretaker Balochistan Home Minister Mir Zubair Jamali on Thursday said that it was the foremost responsibility of the caretaker government to conduct fair, free and transparent election.

In a statement issued on Thursday, he said that the incumbent caretaker provincial government was fulfilling its responsibility to conduct peaceful election, adding that all steps were being taken to ensure provision of safe environment to candidates and voters during the election process.

Urging the people to come out of their homes to cast vote, he said that the election process would pass smoothly.

Separately, Balochistan High Court Chief Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, along his wife, cast their votes at Balochistan Boys Scout Polling Station in Quetta.

Moreover, Balochistan Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan accompanied by Zahid Saleem, Additional Chief Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs Department paid a visit to different polling stations.
