Islamabad : The Floral Art Society (FAS) Magnolia Chapter held its General Body Meeting with a competition titled, “Imposed Class” in which members were divided into two categories, ‘Novice’ and ‘Experienced.’ The same props and plant material was provided to each contestant and they were asked to create their own design. The event was hosted by First Lady, Samina Alvi.
Nusrat Bilal, Shaista Khawar, Aisha Zahid and Wiqarunnisa Boolani judged the arrangements on display after the allotted time. President Magnolia Chapter, Wiqarunnisa Boolani appreciated everyone’s efforts and thanked the hostess for her hospitality, after which two of the judges, Aisha Zahid and Shaista Khawar were invited on the stage to express their views which they did with praise and pointing out the mistakes that were made, thus also making it a learning experience!
Following are the results. For the Experienced category:1st: Ghazala Abdullah; 2nd: Huma Ehsan; 3rd: Nahida Raza; very highly commended: Sadia Amir; highly commended: Faiezah Shahid and commended: Nageen Malik
For the Novice category: 1st: Samina Tariq; 2nd: Farah Khursheed; 3rd: Shakila Khalil; very highly commended: Faheema Yousuf; highly commended: Shazia Imran and commended: Nazneen Malik Dad.
As is customary, birthday girls and judges were presented tokens of appreciation and refreshments were served allowing members to have time for interaction and an exchange of views on the art they are passionate about.
