Punjab cabinet’s body on law & order meets today

Agenda includes release of Rs3bn funds by Punjab govt for holding of elections and approval of deployment of Rangers

LAHORE: The meeting of Punjab Cabinet Standing Committee on Law and Order will be held on Friday (today).

The agenda includes release of Rs3 billion funds by the Punjab government for holding of general elections and approval of deployment of Rangers.

According to the documents available with “Jang”, the meeting of Standing Committee will be held under the chairmanship of Education Minister Mansoor Qadir. Security and administrative matters of general elections will be discussed in the meeting.

The meeting will approve the dashboard of general elections, CCTV cameras Installation, deployment of police forces and Rangers and imposition of Section 144 during the elections. Police security of PSL matches and release of funds for New Zealand series matches will also get approval.
