6 killed, 11 injured in Haripur road accident
HARIPUR: At least six persons, including a woman, were killed while 11 others were injured when a passenger bus rammed into a van near Chechiyan interchange on Hazara Motorway here on Sunday.
Police quoted the eyewitness and injured as saying that the Rawalpindi-bound Toyota Hiace was on its way from Abbottabad when it struck into a vehicle used by a construction company for asphalt laying on the portion of highway. The moment the Toyota Hiace crashed against the machine, it was run over by a Lahore-bound passenger, killing three passengerson the spot and injuring 13 others.
The accident was so severe that the passenger bus got stuck in the body of the Toyota Hiace. The rescue workers retrieved the bodies and injured by cutting the skeleton of the ill-fated van.
Those killed were identified as Faisal, Sultan, Muhammad Shakil, Shehla Bibi, Toor Gul, and Abdul Qayyum.The injured included Ali Raza, Abdullah, Hasnain, Abdul Rehman, Muhammad Imdad, Arifa Bibi, Sami Ullah, Usman, Luqman and Alam Khan.
