OnePlus is disappearing from American retail shelves. In October 2025, the Chinese smartphone maker was quietly removed from Best Buy's physical store displays nationwide, according to research firm Wave7 Research. Nothing Phone (3) and Phone (4a) Pro now occupy the shelf space where OnePlus devices once sat.

Best Buy was never OnePlus's stronghold, the brand never commanded major shelf real estate there. But it was the last foothold. OnePlus lost its US carrier partnerships years ago, eliminating distribution through T-Mobile and other major networks.

Best Buy's unlocked phone section represented one of the few places Americans could still walk in and purchase a OnePlus device. That option is gone.

In April 2026, OnePlus publicly stated it was "evaluating" its future in Europe. Weeks later, the company made the same statement about North America. Translation: OnePlus is seriously considering abandoning both markets entirely.

The brand that once challenged Apple and Samsung in Western markets is now reduced to evaluating whether it belongs there at all.

Wave7 Research documented the shift through physical store surveys. Images from October 2025 showed OnePlus devices displayed alongside Samsung, Motorola, Google Pixel, and Blu in the unlocked smartphone section a shared space for brands without dedicated store displays. Within months, OnePlus vanished.

Samsung and Google Pixel also left the unlocked section, but only because they earned their own branded display areas. OnePlus simply disappeared. Nothing Phone filled the void.
