Kate Middleton's Italy trip fails to break social media 'curse'
Princess Kate undertook a two-day official visit to Italy without Prince William accompanying his wife
Prince William and Kate Middleton have long remained the most popular members of the British royal family.
However, the future king and queen's popularity on one particular platform seems to have hit a stumbling block.
The couple had more than 2.9 million followers on X in the last quarter of 2025 and have yet to reach the 3 million mark on the social networking site.
With the couple and their communications team largely relying on Instagram to spread their message, their lackluster interest in engaging people on X is evident from the follower count they've achieved over the past year.
The couple currently have 2.9 million followers on X, a relatively low number compared to Instagram, where they have more than 17 million followers.
Even Kate Middleton’s recent solo trip to Italy, which generated a large amount of content, seems to have failed to boost their X account, which remains stuck at 2.9 million followers.
