Fog woes in Punjab as domestic, foreign flights cancelled

Several domestic and international flights were canceled on Saturday due to fog in different cities of Punjab. Due to the fog, routine life was affected while flight operations could not be normalized

LAHORE: Several domestic and international flights were canceled on Saturday due to fog in different cities of Punjab. Due to the fog, routine life was affected while flight operations could not be normalized.

Even on Saturday, 8 domestic and foreign flights were canceled at various airports and dozens were affected. Besides, more than 100 domestic and foreign flights could not operate in four days due to the fog.

According to airport sources, the Emirates Air flight that arrived in Sialkot last night from Dubai could not land in Sialkot and returned to Dubai while the flight from Muscat to Sialkot was taken to Lahore.

According to aviation sources, the flight from Abu Dhabi to Lahore was diverted to Islamabad due to the fog.

According to the schedule, the departures of flights from Lahore to Jeddah, Riyadh and Istanbul were also delayed while the arrival of flights from Dubai, Doha and Muscat to Sialkot also faced unusual delays.

Delays have also been reported in the departure of different flights from Sialkot to Dubai, Multan to Jeddah, Al Qasim, Medina and Sharjah, Islamabad to Dammam, Jeddah, Riyadh and Dubai, Karachi to Dubai, Medina and Colombo.

According to the airport schedule, the PIA flight from Jeddah to Karachi was cancelled while Karachi-Lahore flights and Islamabad-Jeddah flights have also been cancelled.
