76 police officers promoted

LAHORE : At least 31 officers serving in Safe Cities Authority have been promoted as Senior Communication Officers and 45 as Police Technical Officers.

IG Punjab held a rank pinning ceremony for the promoted Senior Communication Officers of Safe Cities Authority at the Central Police Office, in which he awarded three star badges to senior communication officers and senior technical officers.

Meanwhile, IG Punjab directed that the police stations in all the districts of the province including Lahore should be transferred to the special initiative protocol within the fixed timeline. He said that the caretaker Chief Minister will formally inaugurate the Punjab Special Initiative Police Stations soon. While presiding over a meeting at the Central Police Office, he reviewed the progress regarding transfer of police stations to Special Initiative Protocol across the province including Lahore.

Meanwhile, Ministerial & Clerical Staff of Lahore Police met with IG Punjab at Central Police Office on Thursday.

IG thanked all the office staff for playing a key role in four thousand promotions during the current year. He said that the Lahore police had brought happiness to four thousand families by conducting 35 promotion boards.

140,210 vehicles, 1,618,915 people checked

At least 140,210 vehicles, 88,278 motorcycles and 1,618,915 people were checked at the entry and exit points of the city this year.

As per CCPO Lahore, legal action was taken against 4809 persons during checking at police pickets. Black papers were removed from 15371 vehicles while blue lights were removed from 46 vehicles. Similarly, during checking, 66 pistols, 11 rifles, 03 pump action, bullets and cartridges were recovered from the accused. At least 3461 target offenders, 621 court absconders and 873 proclaimed offenders were arrested after checking the records at the pickets.
