Pervez Khattak admits to offering extension to Gen Bajwa
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarians chief Pervez Khattak has said that an extension in the tenure of former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa was certainly offered, but it was incorrect to say that it was for an indefinite period.
Speaking to Shahzad Iqbal on Geo News programme ‘Naya Pakistan’ on Saturday, Khattak said Imran Khan was a liar as he backed out of his promise to make him the interior minister.
He said he was also offered to become the president of Pakistan, but he refused. Khattak, who was the defence minister during Khan’s tenure, said that by the time they offered an extension to General Bajwa, it was too late and much water had passed under the bridge. When asked about giving party tickets to his relatives from Nowshera, he said that he would give tickets to those who could win the seat, even if they were from his home.
