Nine passengers going to KSA offloaded at Multan airport
LAHORE: At least nine passengers travelling to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were offloaded from a plane by FIA Immigration at the Multan airport on Friday.
On the instructions of Director General FIA, special instructions had been issued to all airports to prevent human trafficking, following which the passengers were stopped and offloaded. According to preliminary investigations, the offloaded had obtained job visas from agents for Rs 250,000 each.
The persons were transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Multan for identification of agents and legal action. The persons had been offered jobs under the guise of Umrah. According to FIA officials, they were boarding flight GF789.
An FIA official said at least 104 cigarette boxes were also recovered from their possession.
