CS inaugurates annual chrysanthemum show
LAHORE: Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman opened on Monday the annual chrysanthemum show organized by the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) in Jilani Park.
The week-long flower exhibition, which is free and open to members of the general public, attracted a large number of people on its first day. Following the inauguration, Mr Zaman visited the stalls showcasing more than 50 varieties of chrysanthemums that were on display.
The PHA has also decorated around 35,000 plants, including Marigold, on the Jilani Park premises. Speaking to the press, he said the exhibition was held every year in Jilani Park. However, he added, this year’s exhibition is different compared to previous years as the PHA has committed to entertaining the visitors. Additional Director General Safiullah Gondal and Administration Director M Musa Ali Bokhari, among others, also attended the ceremony.
