Upper parts of Hazara receive snowfall
MANSEHRA: The high altitude parts in Hazara on Thursday received snowfall, turning the mild cold weather into the harshest one.
The snowfall, which started in the Kaghan, Siran and Konsh valleys and mountainous parts of the division in the morning, continued intermittently the entire day.The business community and most of the local population had already left the valley since the start of the winter.
Mansehra, Torghar, Upper Kohistan, Lower Kohistan and Kolai-Palas received the downpour. The rain, which started in the early hours, continued sporadically for the rest of the day. The link roads were also blocked in Kaghan valley and Siran valley miseries to locals.
Assistant Director Kaghan valley Asad Shahzad Khan said that their teams were present in the area to extend support to the tourists and locals in case of any eventuality.Reports pouring in from Upper Chitral said that upper parts of Yakhun, Laspur and Torkhow also received snowfall. There was also reports that the Shandur pass has also been closed for traffic due to the fresh snowfall.
