Asad Qaiser’s brother booked for defaming institutions
SWABI: The Swabi Police registered an FIR against Adnan Khan, the brother of former speaker of National Assembly and a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader, Asad Qaiser, here on Monday.
This FIR was registered at the request of Aftab Ali Khan, son of Muhammad Shiraz Khan, a local citizen. Adnan Khan had started a campaign on the social media against the arrest of his brother from Islamabad.
Aftab filed a written request with the deputy commissioner, accusing Adnan of trying to prevent and suppress government institutions from doing their duty by using offensive words against the national institutions and the government of Pakistan. The complainant stated that in the social media campaign, Pakistani institutions were being disrespected at the domestic and international levels and the country’s dignity was being dishonored, seeking legal action. On a written request from AC Swabi, police station of Swabi registered an FIR against Adnan under the provisions of the PPC 506/505/500/124A.
