With Eid just round the corner, You! takes a look at which fashionable cuts and makeup trends you can opt for this festive season...

It’s the midst of Ramazan and everyone is busy picking out gorgeous outfits for Eid and matching accessories to go with. With the festive occasion just a few days away, it’s time to speed up our Eid preps. And of course, clothes top the list; be it tea or dinner parties, you have to look your best. With so many options available,, one tends to get confused on what colour to choose and what kind of cut to go for. It is a sartorial minefield out there and selecting something that complements you is quite a feat.

Still haven’t decided what to wear and what kind of hair and makeup would look best this Eid? Worry not! You! shares some sleek silhouettes and perfect makeup look that you can flaunt this festive season...

Colour matters

This is the first step. Opting for hues according to the season is one of the most important things. It is summer time and pastels are the perfect choice but those who are not too big on wearing light colours can surely go for bright shades. If you are obsessed with pastels, go for muted hues such as white, ivory, beige, peach or pale green. For those who like to wear bold colours can go the classy way and choose black, red, teal, magenta, coral and blue.

Stylish silhouettes

Let’s face it; when it comes to cuts and silhouettes fashionistas are always on a lookout for some unique and trendy styles. And trust us when we say this, cuts are of utmost importance. Nothing beats an attire with a classy cut. Be it angarkhas and straight shirts, you can opt for a short, long or knee length shirt and you are good to go.

However, you can add a contemporary edge to your outfit by selecting asymmetrical cuts. They have been popular for quite some time now and seems like asymmetrical styles are here to stay.

Another on-trend option is to go for capes with belts. A stylish cape can transform a casual look into an altogether high-fashion outfit in a jiffy. Apart from this, you can also pick out poncho style tunics. Keep in mind that the fit is meant to be loose - a tunic should billow and flow and not cling to the body.

Trendy trousers

These days there are a bunch of options you can choose from as far as lowers are concerned. Be it straight trousers, cropped cigarette pants, bell bottoms and not to forget the oh-so popular shalwars - yes they are trending these days - you have plenty of options to choose from.

Embroideries & embellishments

How you style your outfit with the help of embroidery can make all the difference. Embellishments that are quite in vogue and look classy include gota work, ari, resham embroidery, zardozi along with diamantes and pearls. These days gota work is all the rage so add some gota here and there for a perfect desi outfit.

Let your makeup do the talking:

We are well aware that our overall look is not complete without makeup. Now that you have decided on what you will wear, it is time to focus on your makeup look.

Brown smokey eyes

We have seen it on the runway a million times and we just can’t get over the smokey eye makeup. Make sure that you keep your foundation/base dewy and dust a pink or peach blush over your cheekbones. Because it is summer season, go for soft smokey eyes. Start by applying black winged eyeliner and use a small shader brush to put on the brown shadow over the whole lid. The key is to stretch a little shadow a long way. Blend the edges thoroughly with a clean brush for that flawless and seamless finish. Coat your lashes with black mascara and finish by applying black kohl/kajal pencil to your lower lashes.

Pretty pout

This festive season is all about peachy lips - go for a peach shade that’s not too bright. If you aren’t a fan of peach lip colour then you can go for nude lips or a very light pink colour. Of course you can go bright if you want but make sure you choose a deep red or fuchsia pink when opting for a pastel outfit.

Hair affair:

This festive season let your hair style take the sartorial centre stage. Here are two options you could opt for this Eid...

Sleek ponytails

Ponytails are a classic hairdo that anybody can pull off. It’s not only one of the simplest ways of styling hair, but look absolutely stunning if styled in a fashionable way. Keeping in mind the weather, it is best if you go for the sleek ponytail - high or low - with centre parting. After securing your pony with a rubber band, don’t forget to pull on the hair right above the elastic to soften up the style and give it a beautiful silhouette.

Retro waves

Retro waves or Hollywood waves are the most adored beauty hair trends of 2019. Those who love to let their hair loose then opt for retro waves. All you have to do is apply a light hold mousse or curl cream. Then tong in roughly divided sections of your hair and tease it out with your fingers. The best part is that waves look flattering on any hair length.
