This week You! shares some homemade masks that will help in averting different hair problems...

One complementary part of a person’s overall appearance is having lustrous hair that is well taken care of. Though, there are tons of hair care products available in the market that claim to tackle hair problems like frizziness, split ends, hair fall etc, at times you just don’t feel like investing in something that would put a big dent in your wallet. In no way are we suggesting that you shouldn’t buy quality hair products, but opting for simple home remedies once in a while will help maintain healthy and beautiful hair. Read on as You! shares some homemade hair masks that will keep all your hair-issues at bay.

Coconut oil, almonds and egg white hair mask

Exposure to the sun, using too many hair styling products, excessively dyeing your hair and going for treatments like perming or straightening can wreak havoc to your hair, making it dry and brittle. This simple DIY hair mask can leave your dry hair healthy and shiny. Simply grind up enough almonds for about 5 tablespoons and mix with 2 tablespoons coconut oil and 4 tablespoons egg white. Whisk until you have a nice consistent blend and apply this mask to your damaged hair. Let it stay overnight (be sure to wear a shower cap) and then wash your hair with a gentle, natural shampoo and cold water the next morning.

Avocado and olive oil hair mask

Are you tired of your frizzy tresses? While it is no easy task to manage frizzy hair, here is a mask that will aid in taming the frizz. To make this mask you will need 1 avocado; 1 tablespoon honey and 2 tablespoons olive oil. Remove the pulp of avocado and mash it till it becomes lump free. Now add honey and olive oil, and mix the ingredients. Apply to your hair and cover your head with a plastic bag to maximum results. Leave on for one hour and then wash it off.

Olive oil, honey and yoghurt hair mask

Believe it or not, honey works wonders to restore your hair’s natural lustre. Here’s what you need to do: Mix 1/4 cup plain, natural yoghurt, 1 teaspoon olive oil and 1 tablespoon natural honey and apply the mixture to slightly damp hair. Let it stay for 20 minutes before washing and condition as usual. For best results, allow your hair to dry naturally after this treatment.

Almond oil and honey hair mask

This is a quick fix hair repairing mask for those who have split ends. All you need is 2 tablespoons of honey; 1 tablespoon of almond oil and 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. In a bowl mix the ingredients and apply to the hair starting from the ends, and then working it up along the rest of your hair shaft. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then shampoo and condition your hair as you would normally and see the magic.

Mayonnaise and lemon juice hair mask

If you want silky, hydrated and super shiny hair, try this moisturizing DIY hair mask which works wonderfully and help lock the moisture into your hair making it glossy and soft. All you have to do is take a bowl and mix 1/2 cup of mayonnaise, 3 tablespoons of lemon juice and 4 tablespoons of glycerin. Apply this mixture on damp hair covering each strand and then massage it into your scalp. Leave it on for about 20 to 30 minutes and rinse it off with your regular shampoo and conditioner.

Honey, lemon and aloe vera hair mask

Greasy or oily hair can be really troublesome and as the weather becomes humid, it seems that no matter how often you wash your hair, you just can’t get away from a greasy scalp. The oil build-up on your roots leave your hair looking dull and lifeless so here is a mask that will help minimize oil. Mix together 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice with 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel and 1 egg yolk. Apply it on your scalp and leave the hair mask for 20 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water (don’t rinse with hot water). After rinsing the hair mask, wash your hair with a shampoo and conditioner.

Curry leaves and coconut oil mask

Hair fall is a huge concern for almost everyone and an efficient and smart way to prevent hair loss is to try out this special homemade hair mask. You only need two ingredients: 10 to 12 fresh curry leaves and 2 tablespoons of coconut oil. Heat the curry leaves in the coconut oil until they pop. Wait until the oil comes to a warm temperature and then apply it to your scalp and hair. Keep it on for 20 minutes and then rinse off with a shampoo.
