Have you ever thought about the one place where you can truly be yourself, with no inhibitions and no fear of judgements? Often visited, and even more often overlooked, a bathroom is a reflection of our personality, even if we do not recognise it to be so.

Intentionally or unintentionally, every person projects a certain image in front of others unless they are in the comfort of private space.

Recently, the multi-faceted stylist, Ehtesham Ansari fashionably exhibited his artistic vision ‘A Moment In My Space’ at an all-exclusive photography event that took place at the beautifully designed Studio Seven Art Gallery in Karachi.

Through his art, he explored the dynamics of a private and personal setting, one that most of us do not pay adequate attention to - a bathroom. “It’s a mixed feeling, I feel content as I am presenting something which involves thought process and I think many would also be able to relate to it. Through ‘A Moment in My Space’, I tried creating a world using the most mundane of spaces that go unnoticed, a bathroom. Strange as it may sound, if you come to think of it, this is the most visited space and yet it hasn’t been explored. I was always fascinated by it and since art has no boundaries, I decided to bring my artistic vision to life in a creative manner through this concept,” shares the stylist.

Ehtesham creatively explored the area in eleven different forms through thought-provoking black and white life-size images that highlighted eleven untold fashion stories. Each photograph was different from the other, with a deeper meaning and a vision of its own.

The images were shot by the talented trio, Bilal Khan, Syed Faryab and Danish Ansari. The colour theme of the exhibition; white, black and yellow added more life to the entire space and feel of this distinctive concept. The eleven photographs featured prominent personalities including Iman Ali, Sanam Saeed, Zoe Viccaji, Hareem Farooq, Zhalay Sarhadi, Ayesha Toor and a few models; Zara Abid, Rizwan Ali Jaffery, Waleed Siddique, Maya Talpur and Kamran Ahmed.

Keeping up with his A-list styling game, each of the muses in his photographs were decked up in exquisite ensembles by top notch designers like Zaheer Abbas, Rizwan Beyg, Maheen Karim, Munib Nawaz, Ali Javeri, Tuhura Athletics which further highlighted the fascinating intersection of fashion and photography. The accessories were by Asim Jofa Jewellery and the makeup that seamlessly complemented the feel of the concept was done by Nighat Mirza from Depilex.

Mohsin Sayeed, designer and fashion critic, kicked off the evening with his incredible energy that helped stimulate the crowd whilst viewing art. Focused on a concept so raw and uniquely intriguing, one couldn’t help but get engrossed in interpretation of the photographs in their own unique way. The exhibition was attended by celebrities and socialites like Ali Kazmi, Ayesha Toor, Zhalay Sarhadi, Frieha Altaf, Aamna Aqeel, Sadaf Kanwal to name a few. The striking photographs, each having a fashion story of their own were a perfect combination of the aesthetically pleasing and visionary photography and styling skills. Kudos!
