Egypt is the land of Cleopatra, ancient monuments, pyramids and Sphinx. But wait! You missed the best part of Egypt and that is its rich food and culture. The Egyptian cuisine and some of its recipes date back to 5000 years. What is interesting is that Egyptian cooking combines elements from across the Middle East and North Africa, as well as Greece and France reflecting the diverse influences. A lot of the food on the menu relies heavily on vegetables, legumes such as beans and lentils and meats. Not to forget, the Egyptian bread called ‘Aish’ which is a staple food. Over the years, there have been some alterations in the cooking techniques, mainly because of the addition of various ingredients and styles taken from other cultures.
