There’s something refreshing about a fashion debut that doesn’t try too hard. Recently, held in Karachi, a fashion show featuring a new designer line ‘Murk’ by Murk Tariq Bajari, was exactly that - simple in its delivery, but confident in what it wanted to say.
‘Floréal’, the first collection featured clothes which moved between luxury prêt, formals, and bridals. Think flowy silhouettes, thoughtful layering, and embroidery that didn’t scream for attention. Some of the formal sets - loose tunics with clever detailing, wide-leg trousers, and statement dupattas - could easily be dressed down with flats and a slick bun for a dinner out, or styled up with heels and jewellery for a wedding event. Even the bridals felt lighter, more breathable and looked easier to carry. This week, You! takes a look at some standout pieces - and the many ways you can make them work off the runway…
Make a graceful statement in this navy blue ensemble crafted from luxurious pure raw silk. The sleeveless kameez features delicate hand embellishments along the neckline, paired with a flowing farshi shalwar and a soft organza dupatta. Perfect for festive occasions or intimate soirées, it blends tradition with modern elegance.
Crafted from rich self-Banarsi Katan silk, this deep brown stunner is where classic charm meets modern drama. The front-open long tail shirt flows into a tailed lehenga skirt. Hand embroidery, moti detailing, and subtle shimmer make it a head-turner for any special occasion. Add statement jhumkas, soft curls, and bronze lids for a dreamy, dusk-toned look.
Old-world grace gets a fresh spin in this deep green number. Crystal-kissed neckline, sheer organza sleeves, with a breezy farshi shalwar. Top it off with an organza dupatta, and you’re all set to sparkle - whether it’s a mehendi night or a festive dinner. Slick bun, kohl-rimmed eyes, and emerald studs will seal the deal.
A refined white ensemble featuring a tasteful mix of white and green crystals on the neckline and sheer organza sleeves with matching embellishments. Completed with a motif-detailed farshi shalwar and embroidered organza dupatta, it’s perfect for festive evenings and formal gatherings.
This gold dress stands out with intricate neckline detailing and long sleeves that combine warmth with sophistication. Paired with straight pants and a sheer organza dupatta, it’s an ideal choice for weddings and formal events.
