you & me
The fashion industry is full of immense talent, and Munsif Ali Khan is one of them. Known for his dedication and grounded approach, he has carved out a name for himself in the competitive modelling scene. With a master’s degree in mass communication from Punjab University, Munsif’s journey into the world of fashion began at a young age in 2017, when he made his debut at the Pakistan Fashion Design Council (PFDC). Since then, he’s worked with well-known designers like Ismail Farid, Nomi Ansari, and Jazib Qamar. Munsif’s talent has also earned him nominations including Rising Star and Best Male Model of the Year (2020). But he hasn’t limited himself to local runways - his good looks has taken him to international stages in Thailand and Azerbaijan as well. This week, he shares his likes and dislikes with our readers…
Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
Without a doubt, my mother. Every step I take, every dream I chase, it all boils down to her support and the power of her prayers.
If not working, you’re most likely spending your time…
Listening to music. It helps me relax and gets me in a better mood. There’s nothing like losing myself in a good playlist.
What’s a hidden talent of yours that might surprise people?
You’d be shocked to know that I’m a pretty good cricketer and athlete. While most people see me strutting my stuff in the fashion world, I’ve got some serious skills on the field that hardly anyone knows about. Swing that bat and I’m in my element.
What’s your favourite travel destination?
Hands down, it’s Ko-lan Island in Thailand off the coast of Pattaya, a tropical paradise with its white pristine beaches, coral reefs, and crystal-clear waters. It’s like stepping into a postcard – so beautifully picturesque, with twinkling views that could sweep anyone off their feet.
If you could meet anyone in the world, who would it be?
I’ve got my eyes set on David Beckham. The man’s a legend not just in football but in style as well. It’d be epic to sit down with him and soak up some of his wisdom.
How do you like to unwind and have fun?
For me, it’s all about hanging out with my friends, enjoying some great food, and just having a good laugh. The best times are when you’re surrounded by good people and simple pleasures. That’s my idea of fun.
What’s one of the toughest aspects of the fashion industry?
The biggest challenge for me is to be friends with fake people. Some people pretend to have your back, but the moment you turn your head, they’re ready to stab you in the back. It’s like they believe stepping on others is the way to climb the ladder. I’m all about keeping it authentic, so I stay far away from that negativity.
How do you deal with stress?
I prefer to take a step back and clear my mind. I find that working out helps me release stress and refocus my energy. It’s a great way to turn frustration into something productive, helping me feel more grounded and ready to tackle challenges.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
If I were given a second chance, I’d pour my heart into becoming a first-class cricketer. I’d leave no stone unturned - every ball, every practice session would be pure dedication, because that’s a dream I wouldn’t want to let slip through my fingers again.
What’s the next step after modelling for you?
Modelling usually has a short career span, and I used to worry about that. But not anymore. There are so many exciting paths to explore once you step away from the runway. Personally, I’d love to branch into acting, design, or even fitness styling. I’d also be interested in launching my own brand. The opportunities to evolve and grow are endless.
