Hi Ed,
I have been busy since past few books because of the wedding season, so I was unable to write to you to praise some write-ups I enjoyed a lot. ‘In conversation with Momin Saqib’ by Tooba Ghani was cool. Momin’s answers were very good, which made his interview a treat to read. Momin is so good because he did theatre and also took acting classes. In the same issue, I liked the ‘Entertainment’ page, but it doesn’t mean that I did not miss ‘The Green Room’. Still, Us is a magazine for the youth and entertainment is a must for us, the youth. Keep up the good work.

Hi Ed,
I read a suggestion in this section (Us Mail) about making ‘Greetings’ a bimonthly section, and I am all for it. Sending greetings to friends and cousins via Us and receiving their replies would be very exciting. Reserving the section for festivals and birthdays is not a great idea. Ed, if the issue is that of Us, how about publishing the greetings on the back page. As it is, there is hardly any original art work like it used to be.

I read ‘Love, attachments and heartbreaks’ by Aleezeh Fatima Hashmi (January 14), and was impressed with the way she dealt with these very pertinent issues being faced by the young people, especially those in early to late teens. Aleezeh has a very reader friendly style of writing and I always read her articles.

My ears heard and my eyes saw the Prophet (S.A.W) when he spoke, “Anybody who believes in Allah and the Last Day, should serve his neighbor generously, and anybody who believes in Allah and the Last Day should serve his guest generously by giving him his reward.” It was asked. “What is his reward, O Allah’s Apostle?” He said, “(To be entertained generously) for a day and a night with high quality of food and the guest has the right to be entertained for three days (with ordinary food) and if he stays longer, what he will be provided with will be regarded as sadqa (a charitable gift). And anybody who believes in Allah and the Last Day should talk what is good or keep quite (i.e. abstain from all kinds of dirty and evil talks).”
