Hi Ed,

In the issue of March 27, ‘Ghalib, Bahadur and Angrez’ by Sa’ad Nazeer was a fascinating read; it was prose in poetry, and I really enjoyed it. I also loved ‘Queens of the world’, part 2, by Khizra Akhlaq. In fact, I was waiting for it for a while and had started to feel you people had forgotten all about it. It was worth the wait! The cover story ‘Violet vipers’, too, was good. A great issue, Ed, really loved it.

Editor’s Note

Dear all,

Long time, no see and all that… We are at fault; we know. We really ought to be in touch more often, and, in future we will try to do just that. So, are you all bored? Staying at home is not easy, but what to do? We are at war with stuff nightmares are made of; so, understandably, all of us have to try our level best to keep ourselves safe.

Living in desperate times should remind us of things we have forgotten; foremost among them is that we should thank the Almighty for His beneficence and mercy more than we crib about what we don’t have. All of us who can eat what we want are blessed. Blessings must be shared, so we can all be further blessed. Don’t worry; we are not here to sermonize, as we all know that our readership is educated, and we know, folks, you all are not only educated but enlightened as well. But, reflection is sometimes needed. For some, it can be while enjoying good food and watching a video of people queuing up for ‘rations’! Makes us think, doesn’t it? We are sure you all out there are doing what you can to help, and we are proud of all our young people working as volunteers to distribute food items, or at hospitals.

By the way, while you are locked up, how about writing stories and articles (hopefully light stuff, too) to while away your time, umm … constructively? Also, those who are working as volunteers can write about their experiences to inspire others.

Till next time

Narrated by Abdullah (R.A)

I heard a man reciting a verse (of the Holy Quran) but I had heard the Prophet (S.A.W) reciting it differently. So, I caught hold of the man by the hand and took him to Allah's Apostle (S.A.W) who said, Both of you are right. Shu’ba, the sub-narrator said, I think he said to them, don't differ, for the nations before you differed and perished (because of their differences).
