In this week’s issue, I was bowled over by Saniyyah Eman’s story ‘Violet vipers’.....

Feedback

Dear Editor,

I enjoyed 13 September’s issue because it had meaningful content. Unsa Athar is a very good writer and her story “The fat algorithm” made me realize how cruel we can be without even meaning to hurt anyone because when we pass comments we think nothing of it unless someone does the same to us. Good job, Unsa, writers like you make us want to keep reading Us.

Dear Ed,

"A career in Psychology" by Tooba Ghani was a great read. Dr. Uzma Ali talked about the profession in a very clear way. I just had no idea Psychology is taken very seriously as a profession, maybe because we think Arts subjects have little scope. But to me it seems the scope of the subject depends on how passionately you pursue it. Thanks for this informative interview!

Salam Ed,

So glad to see art work on back page of Us magazine; Melancholia by Areeba Naseer (Sept 27) was an amazing piece of art. And I am missing other artists’ work as well. Andaleeb Tariq and Narmeen Allahwala are my favourites.

Dear Ed,

Us is my favourite magazine because I always find good stuff in it to read, but the problem is that when I ask others to read it, they just look at it and lose interest. What doesn’t attract people hardly be of interest to them. Please do something to improve its ‘looks’ also, because along with ‘serat’, ‘shakal’ also makes impression. Think about my suggestion, please.

In this week’s issue, I was bowled over by Saniyyah Eman’s story ‘Violet vipers’. Saniyyah is an amazing writer and a great addition to Us’s writers’ club. I just hope that the story gives us ‘hope’ too. Can’t wait for the next episode!

Reflection

Narrated by Abu Bakar (R.A)

Allah's Apostle (S.A.W) said thrice, "Shall I not inform you of the biggest of the great sins?" We said, "Yes, O Allah's Apostle" He said, "To join partners in worship with Allah: to be undutiful to one's parents." The Prophet sat up after he had been reclining and added, "And I warn you against giving forged statement and a false witness; I warn you against giving a forged statement and a false witness." The Prophet kept on saying that warning till we thought that he would not stop.
