Dear Ed,

It’s really great to see Poets’ Corner every Friday! There is no other place where we can read poetry like this.

I also read Annum Salman’s interview in your magazine which compelled me to read her poetry book Sense Me. And, I can say Us poets write poetry as good as her and any other modern day young poet. This idea might sound crazy, but Us magazine should compile the best Us poetry into a book or an eBook. Or, you guys should arrange live poetry reading sessions across Pakistan.

And, I would also say that you should ask Us poets to recommend poetry books they absolutely love and they can also share their writing tips.

I wish and pray Poets’ Corner stays forever!

Hi Eddy,

Missing entertainment stories in Us magazine! I remember sitting in my school library and reading interesting interviews of Pakistani musical bands. Us magazine has really changed over time; some changes are good like now we get to see more career counselling, informative, university event coverage articles, but some changes are not good like no Cyberia, fewer movie reviews and fewer Ground Reality pieces.

What about asking readers on Instagram and Facebook about what stuff they would like to read more often in the magazine? It would be a great way to engage with the readers and get their quick feedback.

Dear Editorial Team,

I randomly came across article by Mr. F.D.Sheikh regarding Kashmir issue. I was really impressed the way various incidences of Indian aggression, Junagarh and Hyderabad, have been correlated. This should be the stance of Pakistan at international forum that the princely states of Kashmir and Junagarh should have the same status and the matter should be resolved keeping in view all of these historical facts. I must appreciate the writer. Youth should be aware of these historical facts and the matter should be resolved accordingly keeping in view the will of Kashmiris.

Reflection

Narrated by Abu Bakra (R.A)

Allah’s Apostle (S.A.W) said thrice, ‘Shall I not inform you of the biggest of the great sins?’ We said, ‘Yes, O Allah’s Apostle.’ He said, ‘To join partners in worship with Allah: to be undutiful to one’s parents.’ The Prophet sat up after he had been reclining and added, ‘And I warn you against giving forged statement and a false witness; I warn you against giving a forged statement and a false witness.’ The Prophet kept on saying that warning till we thought that he would not stop.
