Soliloquy is from the Latin solus (alone) and loqui (to speak). It is a speech that one gives to oneself. In a play, a character delivering a soliloquy talks to himself/herself - thinking out loud, as it were - so that the audience better understands what is happening to the character internally.
The most well-known soliloquy in the English language appears in Act III, Scene 1 of Hamlet:
To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, ’tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish’d. To die, to sleep;

My leaves are falling,
I'm withering
Barely crawling.
The fragrance is lost,
So is the attraction I got.
I'm alone, hard tree,
Still bearing it all.
Still standing, despite all.
Because I have faith,
Faith in time.
With changing seasons
I know I will shine
The leaves will grow
And so will I.
And the pain will be gone
And I'll once again rejoice.
The people will join,
Some may become my friends.
And I know they will
Stay till the end.

Silencing my emotions and my voice
You ask me why I don’t speak
Giving me reasons to stay up all night
You ask me why I don’t sleep
Lacing my hands with roses
You let me walk on the thorns
Squeezing my heart in your fist
You let me cry and grieve alone
By Mashaal Ali Khan
Falling apart from the frame of heart,
So puzzled in my own cart,
The feeling is so bizarre,
All the ashes are from my phoenix,
My cold self doesn’t really know how to manage,
I left my passion aside,
oh, wait, responsible have arrived,
Let me fulfil it and shut the door,
Can’t do it as the room is connected with an endless road,
Trapped in the box of worries,
Wondering to see the light that’s buried,
Deep under the dungeons of devil’s home,
There also is a phantom in a hurry,
Imprisoned in my own thoughts,
I want to be free,
My heart pounds and trembles every time someone came to me,
Is it natural to feel the fear of nothing?
