Born on 2nd November 1966 in Queens, New York, U.S.
Has an older sister, Ellie.
Initially thought he would become a doctor.
Developed an interest in acting after enrolling in drama class and attending acting programs.
Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre and speech from Northwestern University in 1988.
Subsequently co-founded the Lookingglass Theatre Company.
Made his TV debut in Police Squad! (1982) and film debut in Flight of the Intruder (1991).
Got his breakthrough role when he was cast as Ross Geller in the sitcom Friends (1994 – 2004).
Has since appeared in movies including The Pallbearer (1996), Kissing a Fool (1998), and Six Days, Seven Nights (1998), as well as the TV series Band of Brothers (2001) and The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story (2016).
Upcoming projects include the film The Laundromat.
