  • Has a sister, Laura Jayne, who appeared in the 2004 music video for Eric Prydz’s ‘Call on Me’.

  • Became an actor on the persistence of his drama teacher.
  • Studied drama and creative writing at the University of East Anglia; graduated in 2005.
  • Made his television debut in 2006, before getting his first major role in the television series Party Animals (2007).
  • Shot to fame after being cast as the Eleventh Doctor in the revival series of Doctor Who (2005); played the role from 2010 to 2013.
