Dear Ed,

I really enjoy ‘Poets’ Corner’. I love the poems by Amna Amer and Abid Agha, but also miss poems by Ali Asghar Ghani, Mah Noor and Tehreem Asghar, as they are terrific poets! ‘Ground Reality’ section has been missing for quite some time. There have been no articles on recently concluded PSL. I think sports should feature regularly in a magazine that is specifically for the youth. I hope you will consider my request. Rest is cool, and I wish your team all the best.

Dear Ed,

I congratulate Us on publishing write-ups in support of our armed forces, who have defended our country with great valour. The recent hostilities with India have united the nation and demonstrated that, in times of crisis, we stand as Pakistanis first—above ethnic distinctions such as Punjabi, Sindhi, Baloch, Pashtun. Ed, with the summer holidays now underway, I believe Us should include stories on internship opportunities for students, and, if possible, articles offering guidance on how to earn some money during the break.

A tribute to Shaheen Shah Afridi

Dear Ed,

FIFA recently paid homage to Pakistan’s star fast bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, by featuring him in a social media post alongside global football icons Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., and Luka Modric. The post celebrated athletes famed for wearing the iconic number 10 jersey and aimed to connect with Pakistani fans in the lead-up to the FIFA World Cup. This gesture highlights Afridi’s rising international profile and influence as a sportsman.

Shaheen has been making headlines in the cricket world, most notably by leading the Lahore Qalandars to victory in the tenth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Under his captaincy, the team triumphed over the Quetta Gladiators, reinforcing his position as the most successful captain in PSL history, with three title wins to his name. At just 25, Afridi has already cemented his place as a leading figure in Pakistani cricket, having secured back-to-back PSL championships in 2022 and 2023.

FIFA’s recognition serves as a powerful testament to Afridi’s growing global stature. His outstanding leadership, tactical acumen, and consistent performance have made him a standout in the league. As one of Pakistan’s brightest cricketing talents, Shaheen Shah Afridi’s journey continues to inspire, and fans eagerly await what lies ahead for this remarkable young athlete.
