• Born on 25 April 1988, in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, England.
• Has three older sisters.
• Started acting as a child, appearing in a theatre production of A Christmas Carol in 1995 and making his television debut in the drama Bramwell (1997).
• Took ballet lessons and played piano and clarinet in his youth.
• Starred in the series Leonardo (2011 – 2012) and Groove High (2012 – 2013) before gaining recognition for his performance in Broadchurch (2013 – 2015) and Crashing (2016).
• Gained global recognition after appearing in the series Bridgerton (2020 – present) and musical fantasy film Wicked (2024).
• Upcoming projects include the films Jurassic World Rebirth (2025) and the Wicked sequel Wicked: For Good (2025).
• Is an avid cyclist and is fond of paddleboarding and mountaineering.
