Bold, confident, and strikingly beautiful - these three words perfectly capture Hiba Ali Khan. She’s a unique actor who has made a name for herself in the entertainment world by her sheer hard work. She started her journey with the TV series ‘Dil, Diya, Dehleez,’ directed by Yasir Nawaz, and left a lasting impression. Other projects like ‘Kissey Apna Kahein,’ ‘Aroos Paroos,’ ‘Omer Dadi aur Gharwale,’ and ‘Rani Beti Raaj Karegi’ have solidified her position in the industry. However, due to her studies, she took a break from showbiz and now she is all set to return. Her TV series, ‘Mayi Ri’, which is on-air these days, has her playing a negative role. According to her, she mindfully chose this role to showcase her versatility. These days, she is busy with her upcoming project ‘Rah e Junoon’. Let’s get to know the beauty secrets of this talented actor…

How old were you when you started doing your makeup?

I was not fond of makeup but of course the nature of my job requires it, I started wearing it when I was 15 or 16. Then, I started doing my own makeup on the sets too.

When stepping out, do you wear makeup all the time?

No, not at all. I avoid wearing it unless I’m at work. I don’t like a lot of makeup on my face because I have clear skin so, my everyday look would be zero makeup with just some lipstick.

Do you use sunblock or any serums when you go to shoots?

Yes, I do apply some and the one by Banana Boat is my all-time favourite one and I keep that in my bag.

Your beauty tips for college and university girls?

I strongly believe that if you have healthy skin, it’s best not to apply excessive BB creams and primers before heading out, whether it’s for university or shopping. I prefer relying on natural remedies, which tend to work better for your skin compared to using chemical products. Personally, I opt for Garnier when choosing brands because it’s gentle on my skin.

What is your favourite lipstick brand?

Huda Beauty, Givenchy, L’Oréal.

Do you use lighter tones of foundation or warm tones?

I skip primers and serums, aiming for a natural look. I blend different foundations to match my skin tone perfectly, avoiding any lightened effect which I highly dislike.

How do you avoid hair damage?

Before getting a blow dry and straightening, it’s essential to apply something to your hair. Using oil is the most effective remedy in such cases.

For hair, what are your preferences?

Again, oiling and home remedies are best. Applying Aloe vera masks, egg masks, flaxseed mask on your hair will keep them healthy.

What is your take on natural makeup or zero makeup?

I don’t see a problem with using natural makeup or no makeup. Sometimes, you might wear makeup that looks subtle.

Your advice to women who cannot afford expensive makeup?

We choose the expensive one because we trust that it’s not going to damage the skin. But there are few local brands which are equally good besides being pocket friendly.

Who is your favourite international and local beautician?

Jessica Paster, Nabila.

Your beauty advice for young girls;

Drink lots of water, juices and fruits and an ample amount of beauty sleep.

Where do you buy your makeup from?

I shop mostly from Dubai.

Do you use anti-aging creams?

Neither anti-aging nor night creams, I only use moisturisers.

What about whitening creams?

Absolutely no, as they are really harmful.

What does the word beauty mean to you?

Beauty is all about your personality and how you carry and style yourself.
