Shiv Sena may be hell bent on making Pakistani stars’ lives miserable in India,
but there really is no stopping the cultural exchange. Rumours are already abuzz that actress Urwa Hocane, who is currently in Mumbai, may be following in her sister’s footsteps and signing a Bollywood film, and it wasn’t long ago that Javed Akhtar also revealed his future plans to continue working in B-town. Humayun Saeed is already working on Mahesh Bhatt’s collaborative project and of course both Mahira and Fawad Khan have big productions to look forward to. Joining this illustrious list of stars cum peace mavericks is Pakistani television’s eye candy, Ahsan Khan.
The actor, who was in New Delhi recently to talk about his drama Khoya Khoya Chand, currently airing on Zee Zindagi, may not have a film in his lap as of yet but he has been roped in to host a music reality show for Zee TV called Asia Singing Superstar. The show will include participants from both countries as well as from UAE and singers Shankar Mahadevan and Shafqat Amanat Ali will be taking over the judges’ seats. “I am hosting this show and it has been a wonderful experience, especially with people like Shankar Mahadevan around,” Ahsan said, according to The Hindu. “Apart from being a wonderful singer, he is a very good human being; a thorough gentleman. There is not a dull moment when he is there.”
Ahsan also revealed that he is part of a collaborative short film, produced by Zee TV, which is being shot in Pakistan. The actor took the opportunity to remind fans and audiences that political differences aside, there is not much separating the two nations, who are a lot similar than one assumes them to be. “Everything is same in both the countries, the culture, the food, the clothes and the language. I feel at home here and at times I have to remind myself that I am in India,” he added, at the end of the event.
