Bilal Lashari’s highly anticipated film, The Legend of Maula Jatt, has been ready for release without a confirmed date for quite some time now. Though the upcoming film was slated to hit cinemas on Eid ul Fitr last year, the producer of the original Maula Jatt (1979), Sarwar Bhatti had claimed violation of copyrights in 2017.
The good news is that Sarwar Bhatti has withdrawn all legal cases against the film. Inside sources have revealed that even though there was no stay order on the release of The Legend of Maula Jatt, Sarwar Bhatti had filed for several civil lawsuits, which have been withdrawn. With the censor boards’ clearance, the coast is now completely clear and the film is scheduled to release this Eid ul Fitr.
Producer of the film Ammara Hikmat and Bilal Lashari are yet to make an official announcement regarding the release of the film but it should come soon.
The upcoming film features Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malick and Gohar Rasheed in pivotal roles. The cast also includes Faris Shafi, Shafqat Cheema and Nayyer Ejaz, among others; the film is said to be Pakistan’s most expensive production to date.
