Uptown Karachi comes to life as Pepsi Battle of the Bands’ Season 4 finalists Auj and Aarish serenade the city with the sound of music

Everyone loves a good old party, especially one with funky music and swanky celebrities thrown in for good measure. The past weekend saw uptown Karachi get funky as Cafe Flo came to life post-midnight on the occasion of Monsoon Music Party. Organized by Catwalk Event Management and Productions, this was a great way to get Pepsi Battle of the Bands Season 4 finalists in the house, to entertain the audience and build their brand value. Voting for both bands is currently underway and the final episode of the competition, which airs on August 24, will determine the season winner. The final episode will also feature original songs, composed especially for PBOB, by the judges. That’s a lot to look forward to.

Anyway, back to the party, it attracted the wild side of the city, undeterred by the light drizzle which threatened to turn into a torrential shower if the met department was to be believed. Luckily, such was not the case and the evening stayed quite pleasant as far as the weather was concerned.

The highlight of the evening were PBOB Season 4 finalists, Auj and Aarish, who captivated the audience with their signature sounds. Aarish sang their originals as well as covers, including the mesmerizing rendition of Junaid Jamshed’s ‘Na Tu Ayegi’. Auj hit it out of the park with their hard-rock cover of ‘Laung Gawacha’, as well as their originals ‘Raat’ and ‘Lafz’.

On popular demand, Auj vocalist Abdur Rehman sang a rendition of Muhammad Rafi’s ‘Gulabi Aankhen’. Aarish front man Nosherwan Mehmood also joined him on the ballad, amplifying the moment. At the end, Auj and Aarish urged the audience to vote for them as the season comes to a close this week.

Nothing glams up an event better than fashion models and, thanks to the Catwalk network, we saw quite a few, including (L-R) Abeer, Fouzia, Zara and Areeba, seen here with Tabesh Khoja.

When in doubt, go back to black! TV stars Hira and Mani glammed things up in some desi fusion.

Heer Maan Ja stars Ali Rehman Khan and Hareem Farooq came together, dressed in black, and we loved Hareem’s casual desi look, which was refreshing after more than a month of the

formal fashion that she’s been wearing to HMJ promotions.

Frieha Altaf, who put the party together, let her hair down for the night and looked great in a monsoon themed dress.
