Earlier this month, a number of Pakistani celebrities including Mahira Khan, Mehwish Hayat, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Feroze Khan and others took to social media condemning actions taken by the Indian government to take away Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
We are well aware of the fact that Mahira Khan is one celebrity who is never afraid to speak up against social injustices and sensitive issues. However, in a recent turn of events, a Twitter user called her out for not raising her voice about the situation in Kashmir. He claimed that he checked Mahira’s entire timeline and didn’t find a single tweet for Kashmir.“She is worse than an animal. Even Sonam Kapoor spoke on Kashimir but Mahira remains silent, why?” he posted.
The Superstar actor, who is winning hearts all over with her strong performance in the film that released on Eid ul Azha, corrected him and also shared the tweet she had posted about the Kashmir issue earlier. She had mentioned about the innocent lives lost and that she stands with Kashmir.
“You didn’t bother checking my timeline. Here, I did it for you. That’s all, now you can continue to abuse and call me names,” Mahira responded to the unpleasant comment.
